AVOCADO + MATCHA PROTEIN SHAKE

I wish I could take credit for this shake recipe, but its inspired by The Protein Bar in Chicago.  The HUBS and I went in there for breakfast one morning while we were visiting.  If I were being completely honest, this combination sounded questionable at best, but it came highly recommended so we decided to give it a shot.  Turns out its amazing.  It tastes like an iced caramel latte to me?  I know that sounds strange, but the matcha has this really fragrant caramely sweetness to it.  So naturally when I like things a lot I try to recreate them.

AVOCADO MATCHA PROTEIN SHAKE

INSPIRED BY  THE PROTEIN BAR


INGREDIENTS (SERVES 1)

  1. 1/2 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  2. 1/4 large avocado
  3. 1 tsp matcha green tea powder (I recommend this one)
  4. 1/2 c baby spinach
  5. 1/2 tbs honey
  6. 1/2 scoop of this vanilla protein powder
  7. 1/2 tbs this vitamin powder
  8. ice (to taste)

INSTRUCTIONS  Blend all ingredients and serve.
